CREPE A CROISSANT ADDS SWEET AND SAVOURY FLAVOUR TO SCOTLAND’S MARDI GRAS -
19.07.2006
Crepe a Croissant will add a certain sweet and savoury flavour to the carnival atmosphere at this year’s West end Festival when it erects a Mardi Gras tent outside its branch at 396 Byres Road to offer younger festival-goers the chance to put some colour into their lives with face-painting and a mouth-watering range of delicious crepes.
Scotland’s Mardi Gras Byres Road Street Party takes place on Sunday 11th June from 2pm to 7pm and this year, the 10th anniversary of the West end Festival, it looks likely to be bigger than ever.
Keshan Nahar, founder of Crepe a Croissant, said, ‘The popularity of our Mardi Gras tent and face-painting last year made it an easy decision to do the same this summer – though this year we’re hoping that the sun will shine throughout the whole day and that we can avoid last years downpour!’
The West End Festival runs from 9-25th June. Last year saw 50,000 people enjoy performances from five stages, 22 bands, street cafes, food, drink, stalls and street entertainers. This year, for the first time, the whole of Byres Road will be closed for pedestrians and viewing of the Opening Parade from Great Western Road down to Dumbarton Road.
Crepe a Croissant provides customers with a fantastic range of fresh foods. Topping its extensive menu are its filled crepes, freshly prepared on specially imported crepe pans, carefully designed to cater for all tastes.
As well as its trademark crepes, the company’s full range of products includes sandwiches, baguettes, wraps, croissants and baked potatoes. Its fresh fillings include health conscious, vegetarian and Halal options as well as a delicious range of sweet fillings for those with a sweet tooth.
All products are made to order by the Crepe a Croissant team, all of whom are trained in the art of crepe-making, using the company’s secret crepe batter recipe.
